As the most talked about new Danish artist of the past few months, of course I have to feature . Her name may be very irritating to those without a Scandinavian keyboard, but she is making waves in the UK and US regardless, with sold out London gigs, SXSW buzz and blog hype. Although the 23-year-old singer, whose real name is Karen Marie Ørsted, is mostly compared to artists like Grimes and Lykke Li, the fact that the Spice Girls inspired her to get into music gives me hope she has some good pop tunes up her sleeve. Her three tracks so far, Pilgrim, Maiden and especially Glass, are interesting but her potential isn't yet fulfilled. She may be the tastemakers' latest obsession, but she's got a long way to go if she wants to be more than that.
