I love how Darren Hayes decided to approach the whole ‘coming out’ thing, basically saying “Yeah, so… I got married! To a man!” It is all quite lovely, really. Things are going better than ever for him at the moment, what with this and freedom at last from rubbish Sony. Unlike most acts for whom leaving the record company would signal an embarrassing end to their career, for Darren it means he can make what he says will be the best album of his career, and considering he has already made the best album of my life in Affirmation, that sounds rather exciting to me! You also have to congratulate him for managing to leave Sony, turn gay and get married all in a week, and no silly fuss has been made – he must be very relieved.
