It's the week of people pretending to be called Mik on Future Pop and here's another one whose crossover fame has come from an unexpected collaboration. Mikky Ekko, whose real name is John, is based in Nashville and apparently part of the post-pop movement. That seems ridiculous to me as pop is clearly never going to end, but regardless Mikky is very talented. I saw him live in February and particularly loved one song, Stay. It turns out I wasn't the only one, as unbelievably it's turned up on Rihanna's new album! Mikky is featured on the track, which must have been the deal for giving away such a good song, and I think it was a clever move on his part.
