WAR OF WORDS!
War of Words are pop duo Abi and Lucy, who released one of my favourite girlband singles of 2011 with Panic. It was released as a double a-side with Battleground through the Popjustice Hi-Fi label in December. The tracks were produced by Ben Langmaid from La Roux, who has also produced their debut album, which they will be performing a selection of tracks from at This Must Be Pop Live.
Abi and Lucy have strong, soulful vocals which perfectly match their urban electro-pop sound. There’s also a real ’90s influence and they cite Ace of Base and Neneh Cherry as inspirations, which is always a good thing in my eyes and is becoming very fashionable in 2012.
