Review: This Must Be Pop Live featuring Luminites and Nabiha

September’s This Must Be Pop Live took place last night with Danish star Nabiha travelling over especially, and TMBP Live favourites Luminites making a very welcome return. We had a great turn out with lots of pop fans and industry types coming along to check out these exciting new acts.

First to perform was Nabiha, who sang a selection of tracks from her debut album, including her Danish hit singles Trouble, The Enemy and Never Played The Bass. She commanded the stage with her strong vocals and confident performance, looking cool in a black jumpsuit and very high heels.

Next up were Luminites, who performed a mixture of acoustic covers and three new original songs which all sounded like they could be in the charts right now. They look great as a group with female vocalist Steph, male vocalist JJ, rapper/singer Corey and beatboxer R-Tizt each bringing a cool unique element.

After the performances our resident DJ Jon took over and got the crowd dancing to a mix of the latest hits, cool mashups and pop classics.

Thanks also go to Luke for compering, and Emmie and David for their help on the night, plus both the acts and their teams who were a pleasure to work with.

This Must Be Pop Live will return on November 6th with three exciting pop acts soon to be announced, but before that I hope to see you all at the pop industry meetup I’m organising on October 6th!
