Unsigned Month: Introducing Relics

There’s a space on Planet Pop for a boyband with instruments, and Relics are my top choice to fill it. They look like stars, seem to be genuine friends and the YouTube cover videos they’ve posted so far show that lead singer Jake is a great pop vocalist. They’ve also got the support of Prestige Management (who launched McFly and Busted) and have been working with one of my absolute favourite Swedish producers, Jakke Erixson from the band The Pusher.

Relics are already building up an online following, with Jake’s famous family and friends giving them a bit of a headstart, but connections can only get you so far if you don’t have the talent to back it up. They are are yet to post any original tracks online, but you can hear a snippet at the start of the video below, which sounds quite promising. They’ll also be performing new songs for the first time live at their London gig next month.
