Enough of the indie-pop and EDM – here’s some proper Scandipop! Norwegian former child star Charlotte Kristiansen (now age 17, so not exactly ancient) has renamed herself Raylee and recently took part in a TV show called Stjernekamp, meaning “Star battle.” It's like The X Factor but the singers are already famous and each week they have to perform a song from a different genre. After coming fourth in the competition, she has released a new single, Wish For You, through independent label MTG Music (who also look after such prestigious names as The Shitsez, Yoga Fire and Lucky Stroke). Raylee also has a song called Louder competing in this year’s Melodi Grand Prix to represent Norway in Eurovision, but Wish For You is much better. It doesn’t sound like the charts of today, but that’s not a bad thing in this case – it sounds like it comes from a more innocent time, when pop could just be pop.
