Future Stars: LOLO (Island/Universal)

If it wasn't for persistence and rebranding, Lady Gaga and Lana Del Rey wouldn’t be household names. LOLO‘s hoping that at age 25 it's not too late for her to do the same. Born Lauren Pritchard in Tennessee, she starred in the Broadway musical Spring Awakening before moving to the UK and signing to Island. You may remember her nice but forgettable 2010 single Painkillers. Now known as LOLO, she's been given another chance to release new music through Island after featuring on Panic! at the Disco's single Miss Jackson. Her new music is more stylised and edgy, and less Radio 2. She's clearly talented as a singer and writer but I'm not sure a name change can hide a lack of star quality.
