Future Stars: Carly Pearce (Big Machine)

Carly Pearce is the latest female act from Big Machine, the label that launched Taylor Swift, but I don’t think anyone will be calling her the next Taylor. The 27-year-old has a softer style, halfway between country and singer-songwriter pop (think Christina Perri or Sara Bareilles). Born in Kentucky, she moved to Tennessee aged 16 to become a performer at Dollywood, eventually ending up in Nashville at 19. After featuring on Wasn’t That Drunk by country group the Josh Abbott Band she started working with busbee, a pop/country producer responsible for hits by 5SOS, P!nk and Maren Morris. They created the single Every Little Thing which got her signed to Big Machine, and has recently become a top 10 hit on the US Country Radio Airplay chart, making Carly one of only a handful of female artists to achieve this in 2017. It has also reached the US Hot 100, and it topped the US country chart on iTunes upon the release of her debut album, also called Every Little Thing, earlier this month.
