Last night This Must Be Pop Live returned to Queen of Hoxton for a big comeback gig. It was brilliant to see so many people there, especially as the event had been on hiatus for over a year! The performers each showcased a different side of pop. The audience warmly welcomed all the acts and I know they left with lots of new fans.
Max Marshall
The first performer of the night was Max Marshall, the singer-songwriter from Baltimore, USA, who has made East London her home. She kept her set very simple with an acoustic guitar and loop pedal, and wowed everyone with her beautiful voice.
Ellie Rose
Next up was Ellie Rose, who debuted her new band at This Must Be Pop Live. She played some of the great songs that were familiar from her YouTube videos, as well as some new tracks which showed how she is progressing from teen singer into a more mature artist.
MDNGHT
The headline act were MDNGHT, who came down from Manchester especially for the show. Their electronic sound and catchy songs got the crowd dancing, and lead singer Jordan impressed with his strong vocals. The highlights were their singles, Into The Night and Breeze.
