Soak is the strange pseudonym of androgynous 17-year-old female singer, Bridie Monds-Watson. She is the first act signed by Chvrches (a Future Pop act themselves) to their label Goodbye Records, but sounds more like another Scottish act, Camera Obscura. Even more confusingly, she's actually Irish! Bridie’s music, such as new single Blud, is more folky and less electro than Chvrches, but her regional accent is as distinctive and appealing as Lauren Mayberry’s. Not only have Chvrches lent Soak their support, but she’s also been played on Radio 1, performed on a big Irish chat show and supported Tegan and Sara on tour.
