Robert DeLong was described by Radio 1 music executive Nigel Harding as "the indie Calvin." I understand the comparison, as he is a DJ/producer who also sings on his tracks, but I think his music would appeal more to fans of LCD Soundsystem. He's currently making his name with strong radio support in the UK, USA and Australia, and current single Global Concepts could be his crossover hit. He manages to make intelligent dance music with structure, innovative production and lyrical meaning while still retaining that party appeal.
