Boyzone – Love is a Hurricane (Live)
This sounds more like a Ronan song than a Boyzone song, as it’s written by Gregg Alexander (the guy from New Radicals who wrote all of Ronan’s hits), and it’s actually better than anything else they’ve done since their reunion. Without Stephen (:( x a million) only Ronan is left of the lead singers of the band, but he can’t sing everything himself, so now hilariously the other members are allowed to sing bits. Even Keith Duffy has a verse! However, Shane still isn’t allowed to do any more than some dodgy dance moves. Probably for the best.

Uffie ft. Pharrell – ADD SUV (Listen)
I was really excited about Uffie’s new album after hearing her last single MCs Can Kiss, but this follow-up has left me wondering if it will be worth the anticipation. It’s a nice sound (apart from Pharrell’s bits, obviously) but not at all catchy. It improves as it goes along but never grows into anything spectacular. It’s like they forgot to include a chorus. I’m hoping they just released it because the presence of Pharrell would get it more attention, and this isn’t actually the second best single on the album.

Dan Bălan – Chica Bomb (Watch)
Dan Bălan has had no UK hits since Dragostea Din Tei (he was one third of O-Zone) back in 2004, and not for lack of trying. His rebrand as Crazy Loop attracted no interest whatsoever, even with a quite catchy self-titled single and amusingly odd video. Now he’s back to his own name and he’s actually come up with quite a clever trick: his next single over here will be a completely unremarkable, very repetitive dance track with a pervy video. Luckily for him (not so luckily for us), this country has awful taste in Eurodance, so it will probably be a hit.
