Future Stars: MAGIC! (Sony Music)

Nasri Atweh was a solo artist who, like many, became a songwriter and producer for other artists once his talent was discovered. Now that he’s had over 60 tracks released by major label artists like Bieber, Cheryl and Iggy (he won a Grammy for F.A.M.E. by Chris Brown), he’s returned to singing as the frontman of MAGIC! and their debut single Rude is an international hit. Not only has it charted in their home of Canada, but also in Australia and New Zealand, and I could imagine it as a UK and US hit too. It’s catchy adult-contemporary pop with an obvious influence from The Police; a mix of Train and Bruno Mars’ sounds. Random pop fact: Nasri’s girlfriend is Sandy from German Popstars band No Angels.
