You may recognise John Newman‘s name as he was the vocalist and co-writer of Rudimental’s no. 1 hit Feel The Love earlier this year. Around the same time he signed to Island, and is currently working on his own debut album. According to a recent 1Xtra interview, his debut single will be a song called Cheating, which you can hear performed acoustically here. John is a fantastic vocalist, well beyond his 20 years, but Cheating is quite dull, as was the other track he previewed on 1Xtra. He’s got the talent and the backstory to be a solo success, but he urgently needs a hit song.
