Chart watchers may have noticed an artist called Fuse ODG making his first appearance in the top 10 this month. The Ghanaian-British rapper is one of the most popular Afrobeats artists in the UK, following his 2011 breakthrough track Azonto, which was a viral hit. This year he's moved into the mainstream with Antenna. Fuse ODG's songs and videos are infectiously fun and silly, with their own dance moves. They have a more clean-cut dance party vibe than the sexually-charged 2012 Afrobeats hit Oliver Twist by D'Banj. Following the crossover success of these artists, who have both received strong support from Radio 1, I think Afrobeats will have a lot more presence in the mainstream media this summer.
