Did you know…?

One of the tracks on Idol contestant Johan Palm’s debut album is actually a cover of a song by The Sounds. Teenage Battlefield is one of my all-time favourite The Sounds songs, but it’s not known by many people as it isn’t on any of their albums. I only knew of it thanks to a German film it was on the soundtrack of, Big Girls Don’t Cry. It’s a good choice of cover for Johan, even though The Sounds’ version is much better just for the simple fact that Maja can actually sing.

It seems to be a trend currently for favourite songs of mine to re-appear, as star of the moment Jordin Sparks has covered the legendary Don’t Let It Go To Your Head! This song was first recorded by the ace Canadian pop-rocker Fefe Dobson and then by lovely Norwegian girlband Lilyjets. Both of them released it as a single, so hopefully Jordin will follow suit and release it after Battlefield. This song deserves to be a hit, even if it’s several years late.
