It takes a lot for me to be impressed by a male singer-songwriter, as there are so many dull, self-indulgent example, so it's quite an achievement that Daniel James has convinced me of his talent. Having moved from his home of Northern Ireland to London, the 23-year-old has become very hotly-tipped over the past few weeks, after he premiered his latest song A Lonely Man. The rousing, contemporary folk track is a Bastille-meets-Mumfords hit-in-waiting that would sit comfortably on Radio 1, Radio 2, Capital, XFM and more. The only disappointment is that the handsome man in the video is not actually Daniel but an actor, although the real Daniel is also quite good-looking in an Aiden Grimshaw-esque way.
