Singer-songwriter Ari Leff has been releasing music under the name of Lauv since 2015, and was best known for his debut single The Other, until recently. In May this year he released I Like Me Better, and the track already has 26 million Spotify plays, currently trending on the viral chart. I’d like it better if the actual lyrics were as egotistical as the title suggests, but it does have a very current sound. While Lauv’s music is more mid-tempo, it has a similar vibe to The Chainsmokers’ hits, and it makes sense that Ari was a co-writer and co-producer on the recent Cheat Codes and Demi Lovato single, No Promises. I Like Me Better was released via Kobalt’s label services setup, and he’s also signed to Prescription Songs, Dr Luke’s publishing company. He also has Paradigm and CAA on board as booking agents, and will be playing events such as the Billboard Hot 100 Festival this summer.
