The MF Awards – Part 3

This week’s Melodifestivalen was equal parts exciting and upsetting as it included three entries which will go down as MF classics for sure, but only one of them even made it past the first cut! The only advantage is that I can actually post the videos of two of my favourites, Linda and Sara, as the entries which don’t make it through to the final or andra chansen (the second chance round) are the only ones that the TV channel allow to stay up on YouTube. So who’s getting which award this week?

Best Use of Guitars (in the world, ever!): Linda Sundblad – Lucky You

Most Egg-like Head: Simon Forsberg – Tid att andas

Best Return From the Pop Wilderness: Sara Lumholt – Enemy

Most Dramatic New Look: Sebastian – No One Else Could

Worst fitting suit: The Playtones – The King

Most Inappropriate Dancing For a Woman of 37: Shirley’s Angels – I Thought It Was Forever

Best Outfit For The Aftershow Toga Party: Sara Varga – Spring för livet

Most Obviously Direkt Till Globen: Eric Saade – Popular

Next week we have the last of the semi-finals but it’s going to be an exciting one with entries from Melody Club and Linda Bengtzing, two of my favourite Swedish artists, plus the first ever Melodifestivalen entry for pop legend RedOne! His band Love Generation will close the show with a track called Dance Alone. I can’t wait to hear it!

  1. YES about Best Use of Guitars. Never saw it looking so fantastic used in choreography.

Oh my, that screen with Playtones backing singers wearing THAT looks scary!

And damn I'm in 26 can't imagine how people can dance so in 37, but that's what I'm a bit jealous about!
