I’m currently researching for a feature I’ve been planning for ages, where I am going to write about the best songwriters and producers in the music industry. I love researching this are because I always discover amazing things, so here are some ace discoveries I’ve made today:
1. Cleo from Cleopatra wrote the whole of their first album, between the ages of 9 and 14! It’s sad that she can’t seem to get anywhere as a solo artist.
2. Several of the songs on Kevin Borg’s new album are written by a guy called Iain James… which happens to be the real name of Sparxx from Triple 8! He also has some nice (but unexciting) solo songs on his MySpace here, including his version of The Light You Leave On.
3. No Promises by Bryan Rice/Shayne Ward was written by Lucas Sieber, who was one of the members of the brilliant Aqua-esque pop group Daze in the 90s! I can remember when they were in Smash Hits, but I didn’t actually hear any of their songs until a few years ago.
