MAX MARSHALL!
If Max Marshall sounds familiar, you probably know her name and vocals from her top 10 hit single Control, a collaboration with drum and bass giants Matrix and Futurebound. But now it’s time for Max to show us what she can do as a solo artist. She has an interesting background, born in Baltimore but now based in London, and although she’s still just 21, music is the second career she has excelled in – in the world of fashion she’s known for designing clothes and making wigs for clients including Lady Gaga! Her influences include Erykah Badu and India Arie, and you can certainly hear the sweet, laidback soul sound they’re known for in her music, but there’s also a very current pop side to it that allows her to appeal to a wide range of music fans.
I got the chance to see Max perform live at The Great Escape this year, and it was one of my highlights of the festival. Come along to This Must Be Pop Live to experience her powerful vocals and cool, classy pop songs for yourself!
