So far in 2013 there's been a lot of talk about the predicted return of guitar music, and I heard a new band on Radio 1 this week who I think could be a big part of that revival, if it happens. The 1975 are four young men from Manchester who are building up a big live and online following. Their last single Sex earned them lots of new fans, but I think their new track Chocolate will be the breakthrough hit. It's bouncy, cheeky and laddish without being too masculine to appeal to girls, exactly the kind of music to suit the older teens who want people to think they're too cool for boybands.
