Unsigned Month: Introducing Stevie Neale

Stevie Neale is off to a flying start with her debut single Dangerous. Released in November through her management company Week of Wonders’ own label, it got its online premiere on The Fader and has had several plays on Radio 1 thanks to Toddla T and Zane Lowe. Although Dangerous has a very current, garage-pop sound, I think Stevie will win most acclaim for her fantastic voice. She sounds a lot like Beth Ditto from The Gossip, and the strength of her vocals brings a new element to this style of music which is typically more restrained.

Stevie can also add songwriting and producing to her talents, as she wrote and produced Dangerous herself (sadly unusual for a girl). She’s currently working on her next release and doesn’t have any other songs online at the moment, but you can hear live versions of some of her other tracks via BBC Introducing.
