Smiler is a rapper whose star is on the rise. I've heard so much about his new single Top of the World, which features Professor Green and Tawiah, that I was shocked to discover it's still not out for another month. Rumours are also abound that Smiler is on the brink of signing to U.S. hip-hop label Maybach Music Group, founded by rapper Rick Ross. Whether or not it's true, the rumour is helping to give the impression that Smiler is about to move from underground success to the U.K. rap major league. I would like to see him smile a bit more, though… is his name meant to be ironic?
