I've had an issue with Sky Ferreira since she ungratefully rubbished the best song she ever recorded (Obsession, written by Ryan Tedder) but after reading this 2012 interview I gave her another chance. Watching footage of her recent SXSW show, I understood her appeal, as she's fascinating to watch. However, the new music is disappointingly style over substance. Everything Is Embarrassing has been a tastemaker hit but the British public will never warm to this girl as long as she comes across like a long-lost Geldof sister. As the comments section of last week's Guardian interview shows, no-one outside of East London is fooled by this calculated cool.
