Not sold on the new singles by MNEK or Becky Hill? I think you might be more into this track they co-wrote which slid under the radar a few months ago. Metroplane is a supergroup (superduo?) made up of Alex Metric and Aeroplane, who are both established as solo DJ/producers. I love Word of Mouth‘s combination of kitsch buh-buh-buhs, catchy hook, and feisty vocals from British singer Bree Runway. I have a taste for songs that offer no light and shade, bursting with energy and fun from start to finish without a pause for breath, and Word of Mouth is a great example. Interestingly, Metroplane share production credits here with Mark Ralph, whose first big hit was Years & Years’ King – another track which definitely fits that description.
