KONGOS are a South African/Greek band with a blues-rock sound, made up of four hairy brothers with the surname Kongos. Their single Come With Me Now has become a US hit after two years, and they’ve set their sights on the UK next, with the single and album due for release here in August. Come With Me Now mixes fun, bouncy backing music with gruff rock vocals. It’s anthemic and atmospheric, a unique song that doesn’t sound like anything else in the charts, which I think will go in its favour. They toured with fellow capslock fans AWOLNATION in the UK last year but now seem to be pursuing a more mainstream audience, supporting OneRepublic in October. So far Absolute Radio are on board, and Radio 1 and Radio 2 have both been testing the waters with a few spot plays.
