Not to be confused with the fake teen couple of the same name, HANNIE is an intriguing new pop duo made up of Hannah Koppenburg (originally from Germany) and Annie Wagstaff, who met at music college ACM Guildford. Although they look like they could be the next Mini Viva or Oh My!, HANNIE is actually a rather different proposition – they aren’t singers or dancers, but musicians. The girls are young, cute and fun, and already have a good following on their individual Instagram accounts, @hannahplayskeys and @annieplaysguitar, where they show off their skills in short videos. New single Target features Canadian singer Ralph, who is known for enjoyable electro-pop songs including Cold to the Touch and Something More, and will help the track reach a wider audience thanks to her substantial Spotify following. Target was independently released via Kobalt’s AWAL service, while the duo are managed by Empire, best known for their work with Lily Allen.
