When you listen to Georgi Kay‘s new single In My Mind, you may think it's a cover, but in fact it's quite the opposite. The Australian singer is now releasing the original indie-pop song that was turned into a dance hit in 2012 by Ivan Gough and Feenixpawl. The remixed version by Axwell, of Swedish House Mafia fame, is the most well known. Following this success, 20-year-old Frankie Cocozza lookalike Georgi went on to sign to Parlophone. Although In My Mind is a clever choice for her first single, I prefer the strangely-named Ipswich (which I presume is about Ipswich in Queensland, not the one in Suffolk). Her sound is similar to labelmate Gabrielle Aplin but I feel she's a much better songwriter.
