Future Stars: Chester Watson (Unsigned)

Chester Watson is a 16-year-old rapper from St. Louis, Missouri who is visiting the U.K. this week for his first London gig, even though he is still unknown in his home country. Chester, who has been compared to Earl Sweatshirt and Kendrick Lamar, attracted label interest after being played by Zane Lowe on Radio 1, and it will be a surprise if he doesn't return home with a record deal. Although I don't think Chester has any big hits under his belt so far, the fact that he produces his own music and has created such a cool, mature sound at a very young age proves he is one to watch, and his skater/music collective Nu Age is worth keeping an eye on too. Catch him live at A&R scout hangout Birthdays in Dalston on Wednesday.
