The time for Kate Nash's comeback might not be as far away as we think – not only are fellow mid-'00s one-album wonders James Blunt and Mika doing quite well at the moment, but there are several cool, young new artists who sound like her. Chloe Howl is often compared to Kate Nash, and Emma Dawkins, the 16-year-old lead singer of English indie-electro band Kafka Tamura, also sounds very similar, although their music and lyrics are much less gimmicky. I'm surprised it took me six months to discover their single Somewhere Else, as it's a very impressive debut: a pretty sound but equally strong and original. The single has been released through German label DIA, as their manager is German, but they appear to be unsigned for the UK.
