Take one Justin Bieber, add a pinch of Taylor Swift, pop it in the oven and you'll get Hunter Hayes. He's a 21-year-old country singer who's the latest heartthrob for American teens, thanks to his hits Storm Warning and Wanted. But could he cross over to the mainstream charts like Taylor, or have a hit in the UK? The fact that male country singers almost never achieve this (Shania, LeAnn, Dixie Chicks – all very female!) doesn't bode well, but if ever it could happen it's now, and with a cute young thing like Hunter. Taylor's first album was very country, before she went more mainstream with Love Story, so I'll be interested to see what Hunter does next.
