It’s only 5 days now til the next This Must Be Pop Live! That means it’s time to find out more about the performers, starting with ace pop duo War of Words…
Can you describe your music in five words for those who haven’t heard of you before?
Real, emotional, soulful, attitude, girlpower.
Who is your favourite pop duo of all time?
Shakespeare’s Sister, even though I was scared of them when I was young, haha!
What was it like working with Ben from La Roux on your debut album?
Really good, we learnt a lot, and he really pushed us to be the best that we could be. Also working with him and Jeff, it was good to know a man’s side of a story… about love and stuff.
Your music is very ’90s – what is it about that decade that inspires you?
They had big vocals, very free style, fun sounding, easy to move to.
What can we expect from your performance at This Must Be Pop Live next week?
Real girls who love performing… and love to get people involved… music is about bringing people together.
If that’s whet your appetite you can see War of Words, along with EBRU and Poppy and the Jezebels at This Must Be Pop Live next Tuesday at the Queen of Hoxton. Click here for more info and here to buy advance tickets at a bargainous price of £3!
