While most female electro-pop artists are fighting it out on Soundcloud to catch the attention of the major labels, Columbia have taken a leap of faith on British newcomer, Milly Pye. The 19-year-old singer has been quietly beavering away on tracks for her debut album, only piping up to appear on house DJ MK’s Bring Me To Life, and finally released her debut single last week. Too Many People is a catchy pop tune with strong hooks and a rocky edge. She seems like a fun, likeable girl with an interesting voice, and though I’m not sure where she fits in the current pop landscape, I’m excited to hear more and hoping she’ll find her place.
