Ed Sheeran and Michael Kiwanuka have both been labelled "the male Adele" in the past, but actually I think Sam Smith suits the name much better. Best known as the singer on Disclosure's recent breakthrough hit Latch, he is now embarking on a solo career and recently unveiled his first song in the form of a stunning acoustic video performance. Lay Me Down is a moving ballad that Adele would be proud to call her own, but it’s the pure, heartfelt vocals that are truly impressive. Prior to the Disclosure collaboration Sam was a total unknown, but now he’s one of the most hotly tipped new artists of 2013, showing how one great song can change your life.

Are you sure he is unsigned? Pretty sure he might be with PMR.
Since posting this I’ve heard he’s signed, but with a major label not PMR.
