It’s hard to find inspiration to write about an anonymous dance producer, but now Route 94 (Rowan Jones) is on course for a no.1, I suppose I probably should. Although he’s been present on the dance music scene for a few years, and was previously known for dubstep under the name of Dream (he was signed to Skrillex’s label OWSLA… and he once remixed Oh My!), it took a bit of luck to get 20-year-old Route 94 to the top. His new single My Love happens to feature the same vocalist as the biggest hit of 2014 so far: Jess Glynne, who is best known for appearing on Rather Be by Clean Bandit. The song’s infectious hook won a small following, but only when Rather Be topped the chart did it break through to the mainstream.
