I have just found the most amazing thing: this week’s top 10 is actually brilliant – I like EVERY SONG! I can’t remember the last time I liked the whole top 5, let alone the whole top 10. It’s just amazing, considering how dire the charts were in 2005. This year things have just improved so much, even though the new rule about downloads going in the week before single sales makes a mockery of the whole thing as songs that are gonna be big hits go in at the lower end of the top 40, while medium size hits enter at the position they are supposed to i.e. higher than the big hits! Where on Earth is the logic in that? But at least the ace pop stars have come through despite the idiocy of the charts company, it is still a triumph for pop and jolliness.
