Taio Cruz – Dynamite (Listen)
What went wrong with Taio Cruz? His first album was excellent. He launched his second album with a song that was even better than anything he’d done before. Then I listened to the rest of the album and there really wasn’t even one song worth releasing as a single. He must realise this because now he’s become an international success with Break Your Heart, he’s releasing a single not on either of his albums. Unfortunately, it’s little better than anything off album two and no patch on album one. I’m so confused.

Alexandra Amor – Superstar (Listen)
Alexandra Amor is the most generic of pop-rock princesses and since she is not on a major label, she therefore has pretty much zero chance of success (as is always the case for generic music not on major labels) but that doesn’t mean her new single isn’t a poptastic triumph. Yes, it is very dated, but who cares when it’s so catchy. I’d have loved it in the early ’00s so there’s no reason not to love it now. After all, it’s still more up to date than what Miley and her Disney chums are releasing.

Page – Ett SOS (Live)
I really wanted to like the comeback single from Swedish synthpop act Page, since BWO’s Marina Schiptjenko is one of the members. Therefore I’m sad to say that I could barely listen to it once – not a good start considering BWO are my most played act on Last FM. Although the backing music (Marina’s department) is quite jaunty, the singer Eddie Bengtsson has a really unappealing voice. After the disappointment of Alexander Bard’s new band Gravitonas as well, I think we need to get BWO back together ASAP!

I do like synthpop, I’m just not keen on Eddie’s vocals, at least on this track. I’m sure he was involved in the music too, I was just saying it’s not her fault I don’t like the song – she at least did her bit well.

well theres still Martin’s solo right? which i’m kinda interested in more than the other two projects because i don’t know what its gonna be like yet tho.. guess we have to wait a bit more?

oh, i really like both the Page album and the Gravitonas song. And now there’s a Martin solo project?! Alex and Andreas were on Larry Flick recently and Alexander said that he would be in the states this summer possibly as Gravitonas but possibly as BWO promoting Right Here Right Now, so the project can’t be totally kaput!

I have Googled Alexandra Amor Superstar and she just might defy the odds. The young Florida Pop Singer starts her National Radio Tour in Miami this Wednesday. The UK Music Sites are all abuzz over The Power Pop Sensation from Florida. Superstar is already winning new Artist Radio Contests all around the US. I watched her performance on NBC Daytime and she was Fantastic. Anyways I agree with you it’s a great Song with a great beat!! Thanks great website.
