Song of the Week: Meghan Trainor – Credit

I wasn’t keen on Meghan Trainor’s album at first, because the first half is quite weak, but a few listens later I found myself in love with cute, witty pop songs like Credit. I was shocked when I realised that Credit, along with some of my other favourites such as Mr. Almost and No Good For You, were merely bonus tracks. This is light, uplifting pop that isn’t trying to be anything more. Meghan seems like one of the nicest, most fun and down-to-Earth pop stars at the moment, one of the few I’d genuinely want to hang out with, and as I wrote on This Must Be Pop a few weeks ago, she sets an important example for the music industry. Don’t be put off by her rubbish new single Dear Future Husband, and give her album a chance.
