Madison Beer first became known as Justin Bieber’s protegée (aka Scooter Braun’s latest signing) back in 2012, and released a cute pop single called Melodies. I featured her in Future Pop at the time, but neither Melodies nor any of her follow-up singles made the charts. Since then she’s parted ways with Scooter, become a social media star with over 10 million Instagram followers, and signed with British management company/label First Access (formerly Turn First). All this, and she’s still only 18. I’m not quite sold on her as a pop star, but I am a fan of Home With You, one of the tracks from her new EP, As She Pleases. It’s a sassy mid-tempo track with a super catchy chorus, written by an impressive selection of British and Scandi talent. Credits include producer Fred Ball and singer-songwriters RAYE and Jin Jin (who played This Must Be Pop Live in 2013).
