Over the past year the charts have been dominated by dance tracks which may have seemed, to the average person, to have come from nowhere, but actually they had built up a buzz over months or years of popularity in the clubs and online. Therefore, I’m interested to see the results of this attempt by Global Talent to create such a hit by playing a track by their newly-signed dance act LuvBug incessantly on their radio stations, including Capital FM. LuvBug are not only signed to Global (and their regular collaborators Polydor) as a group, but have another Capital connection, as one of the trio is Marvin Humes, the ex-JLS member who is now a radio DJ. He’s joined by The White N3rd and Jon Keep. The single, Resonance, does fit the current musical trends but personally I don’t think it’s a great example. Talay Riley still hasn't grown a personality, and the song lacks a memorable hook – I don’t think randomly honking “resonance!” counts.
