It’s been a few weeks since a new Swedish female artist pounced onto the music scene, which means it’s long overdue. Luckily Stockholm girl LÉON has arrived in a whirlwind of blog buzz to put that right, with her interesting indie-pop track Tired of Talking. Her first Soundcloud upload, the song premiered 10 days ago, and already has 130,000 plays. She only founded her Facebook page 6 days ago, and she’s already being chased by major labels. Tired of Talking has ticked all the buzz boxes of 2015: A Hype Machine no.1, a tweet from a cool young celeb (in this case, actress and music geek Chloë Grace Moretz) and a mysterious girl at its heart who conveniently appears to have come out of nowhere. But these tastemaker tunes can’t make the artist behind them a star on their own. As we’ve seen with acts such as Ryn Weaver and Mapei, who both sound similar to LÉON, going viral with your first track doesn’t ensure mainstream success. However, it gives the artist a platform to show what they’re really made of. Now it’s time to see if LÉON can close the deal.
