I featured Krishane’s debut single Drunk and Incapable as a Song of the Week when it first premiered, but now that it’s rising up the Shazam chart thanks to some good radio play, I thought it was about time I made him a Future Star. Krishane is the 20-year-old son of successful reggae singer Barrington Levy, and he’s part of what seems to be a mini-invasion of Jamaican music in the UK charts this year. Melissa Steel (who is also featured on Drunk and Incapable) and Popcaan recently hit the top 10 with Kisses For Breakfast, while Stylo G featured on Clean Bandit’s latest single Come Over, and is building a following for his own music too. Drunk and Incapable is a really cute, fun and youthful take on reggae-pop, co-written by past This Must Be Pop Live performer Jin Jin.
