13 years after she signed her first record deal, Jhené Aiko has finally achieved her first chart hit, featuring on Big Sean's recent single Beware. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she was signed to Epic age 12 and released a single, No L.O.V.E., but she left the label when she was 16. After becoming a mum, Jhené returned to the music industry and recorded a mixtape featuring Kanye West, Miguel and Drake (who featured her on his new album too), which got her signed to Def Jam. Her name and interesting look stem from her Japanese, African American and Native American genes. Her music is alternative R&B and she has been described as the female Frank Ocean.
