Jamie N Commons first popped up as a British indie-folk artist a few years ago. He could have hung around on the Communion scene, but there was more in store for this singer-songwriter. His ten years living in Chicago as a child, and his classical music degree, combine with his West Country origin to create a unique sound. He was spotted by Alex Da Kid, the British producer of Love The Way You Lie, who signed Jamie to his label KIDinaKORNER. The label has already successfully launched Imagine Dragons, and it looks like Jamie N Commons is about to follow in their footsteps. He appears on Eminem’s new album, and a remix of his single Jungle has just premiered, featuring Jay-Z. The song has gained exposure in a major Beats advert, BBC World Cup coverage, Orange Is The New Black trailers and more. You might not think you know it, but you probably do, and I think the new version with Jay-Z could be Jamie’s breakthrough hit.
