Felix Jaehn is the Robin Schulz of 2015: A German DJ and producer specialising in deep house who made his name with a hit remix. While Robin broke through last year with his take on Waves by Mr Probz, and has been the success story to emerge from the collaboration, Felix is best known for his huge remix of Cheerleader by Omi and is now poised to achieve a chart hit under his own name. I suspect Omi, like Mr Probz, will be a one hit wonder, while 20-year-old Felix has a promising career ahead. His new single is a cover of Ain’t Nobody by Rufus and Chaka Khan, and features Jasmine Thompson, the 14-year-old British singer who played This Must Be Pop Live in December and is now signed to Atlantic US. Jasmine previously reached no.32 with an acoustic version of the song when it featured on a 2013 Sainsbury’s advert. Felix’s version has already been no.1 in Germany and Austria, and is now rising up the Shazam UK pre-release chart with almost a million tags so far.
