Over the past year, an unusual number of British teenage female solo artists have been signed: Little Nikki, A*M*E, Rainy Milo, Ella Eyre, Syron, Sasha Keable, and maybe more. Only two have achieved chart success so far, and only as a featured artist, but it seems inevitable that at least one will be huge, leaving the rest in their wake. Now Elli Ingram has arrived, as yet another competitor. After posting some impressive YouTube videos, she got a manager, made some professional music and videos, and eventually signed to Island last week. Her voice and look have been compared to Adele, but her music is more soul/R&B. Poetic Justice is a good tone-setter, but like her young rivals she's yet to produce a surefire hit. For all of them, the time is now.
