Now Lorde has reminded the world that New Zealand exists, there’s a sudden interest in the country’s musical output, and the most obvious act to benefit is one who shares the same producer and a similar sound. Broods are brother and sister Caleb and Georgia Nott, an indie-electro-pop duo from Auckland, who recorded their debut self-titled EP with Lorde’s producer Joel Little. They’re best known for the first track they posted online, the delicately emotive Bridges. I’m not convinced they have the same commercial crossover potential as Lorde, but they make very pretty sounds nonetheless. You can find out for yourself this week, as they’re playing their first London gig, then supporting Haim at a few UK dates.
