It's hard to know exactly what to believe about BenZel, because their bio includes phrases such as "They met in early 2012 through an online message board about ankle socks," and there are no photos of them to be found anywhere online. Anyway, they claim to be a duo made up of Japanese teenagers, Umi Takahashi and Yoko Watanabe, who moved from Osaka to New York and became successful electro producers. You may know their 2012 collaboration with Jessie Ware on her cover of If You Love Me by Brownstone. The exciting news is that they're working with pop producer Benny Blanco (Tik Tok, Moves Like Jagger), as well as the excellent Cass Lowe.
